Math Resources

Here are some great websites to practice math skills:

"Illuminations -> Resources for Teaching Math"
This one here has some lessons for teachers to use:

"Utah Education Network"
This one has some fun links to other sites:

"IXL"
And I think my favorite so far is this one here:

There is a FEE but I think this will be what I want for my classroom.

The student practices different skills and if he gets one incorrect, he then can quickly review the concept and get it right next time.

from their website:

Knowledge isn't the only reward on IXL...

IXL is not just about helping your kids learn math or language arts, it's also about helping them enjoy learning. That means encouraging them to have fun! Unlike traditional workbooks and exercises, IXL offers hours of intrigue for students—without distracting them from grasping key concepts.

I love this app and can't wait to use it with my kids at home:

What is it?
The Number Rack facilitates the natural development of children's number sense. The movable, colored beads encourage learners to think in groups of fives and tens, helping them to explore and discover a variety of addition and subtraction strategies.

"GeoBoard"
This last one is fun to play around with to help students learn about shapes:

You just "grab" different colored rubber bands and place them around the nails on the board to make different shapes. It's pretty fun for me and I can only imagine it's even more fun for kids.
